This Blog is here to create awareness of current issues relating to Darfur and offer resources to learn more; stimulate dialogue and share opportunities on ways to “stand in the gap” for Darfur; discuss in particular what Christians could be doing to respond and how the Church is or is not taking action; and offer a place to share areas for prayer, specific prayers for Darfur, and relevant scriptures.

About Me:
Jennifer Vollett-Krech is the Technical Health Program Specialist on the Global Team at World Vision U.S. commencing August 2007. She most recently worked for Merlin, a U.K. medical relief agency, in Liberia and represented Merlin on their work in Darfur as a Washington DC Liaison. She has six years of experience in international health including: service provision, project management, monitoring and evaluation, health technical advising, donor relations, proposal/report writing, and research. Her work focused primarily on post-conflict countries with three years of field experience in Liberia, Sierra Leone, Sudan, and Nepal. Prior to her public health work, Jennifer worked for six years as a Physical Therapist and Physical Therapy Instructor in Canada, Nepal, and Sierra Leone in both acute care and community-based settings. Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto and a Masters of Global Public Health from the George Washington University. Her master’s thesis was on Primary Health Care services for Persons with Disabilities in southern Sudan. She attends St. Brendan’s Anglican Church in the City and leads a monthly prayer meeting for Darfur and other countries in crisis. Jennifer Vollett-Krech is a Canadian national.
